Dear Fig Members,

I hope you’ve had a great start to 2024 and I hope you’re as excited for what’s coming this year as I am 🤩

Hint: This is the year Fig takes on restaurants in a big way. But more on that later…

First, what’s new in the app this January? ✨

  • 28 New Grocery Stores 🛒
    • We’ve added Dollar General, Winn Dixie, Stater Bros, IGA, Fresh Thyme, Dierberg’s, the Military Commissary and more stores to the app
  • New Diets, Allergies and Intolerances
    • Fig now supports the Autoimmune Protocol diet (AIP), a spice allergy, and a citric acid intolerance. It’s also easier to avoid seed oils, caffeine, honey, and yeast
    • Simply open your app, tap “Profile,” and click “Edit Fig” to see the new options!
  • Added 45,000 Missing Products 😋
    • More products mean fewer gray scans and better food discovery
    • Plus, check out the “What’s New” feature at the top of the Grocery section. There, you can see new products added to Fig each week!

But the big push for 2024 is RESTAURANTS 🍽️

We’ve heard from you over and over that eating out continues to be a pain. That’s why we’re re-building our entire restaurant feature from the ground up.

And we need your help!

Please consider scheduling a 15 or 30 minute call with our product team. You’ll be shown the new restaurant features before anyone else and asked for your initial reactions and feedback.

Together, we can make eating out at restaurants more fun and less of a burden 😊

What else is coming soon? 👀

  • More Diets, Allergies & Intolerances (50% Complete)
    • We’re adding the Mediterranean Diet, Phenylketonuria (PKU) Diet, Nickel Allergy, Sucrose Intolerance and more
  • “Beyond the Label” Grocery Information (20% Complete):
    • Fig is contacting manufacturers to identify unlisted cross-contamination concerns and understand what’s in vague ingredients like “natural flavors” and “spices”
    • This is obviously a huge task, but we’re committed to getting it right. You deserve to know what’s in your food!
  • Whatever YOU Say is Most Important!

2023 was a banner year for Fig. We launched Multiple Figs, letting you more easily scan, search and shop for friends and family. Ingredient Alerts warn you if manufacturers likely changed ingredients or allergens in your favorite products. And the new Grocery feed makes discovering products more fun.

But 2024 is going to be even better. For those of you who are new to the Fig family, a warm welcome! And to our long-standing members, thank you as always for your continued support.

I can’t wait to share more updates with you in the coming months. Your ideas, feedback and support are what make Fig not just an app but a community-driven platform dedicated to making food fun, safe, and accessible for everyone.
